If you live in Sumner, Parkrose, or Argay neighborhood, you are in the SPACC (Sumner Parkrose Argay Columbia Corridor) TIF (tax increment financing) district!

This financial tool invests a portion (increment) of existing property taxes into physical improvements in the area. 45% is set aside for affordable housing programs from the Portland Housing Bureau. These programs include repairs to income qualifying homeowners, building new affordable housing, assistance to first time home buyers, and more. The remaining funds will be used for economic development, with 10% dedicated to infrastructure (sidewalks, stormwater, roads, etc.) improvements.

The CLC (Community Leadership Committee) is a group of community members from the area who will co-create with Prosper Portland and the Portland Housing Bureau on an action plan. This plan will prioritize those funds over the first 5 years. (Following CLC groups will work in 5-year segments until the district closes in 30 years.)

So it's important to think about: what do you want to be built, preserved, and/or repaired in this area? You can make public comment either in person at Parkrose High School's District Office (10636 NE Prescott St.) or online.
